The training managers actually need

Equality and diversity training usually fails in one of two ways: a tick-box e-learning module nobody remembers, or an awareness workshop that never quite reaches the moments where it matters. Neither helps the manager who’s chairing a meeting when someone is talked over, or shortlisting candidates with a career gap on the CV.

The Right Call: Equality & Diversity puts managers inside five real situations and shows the consequence of each choice. There is no “correct” answer screen. Each option plays out — the resignation, the discrimination claim, the team that quietly disengages — so managers see exactly how their decision lands.

The scenarios are drawn from real cases, anonymised, grounded in the Equality Act 2010 and current ACAS guidance. One licence covers your whole organisation. SCORM 1.2 deploys to any LMS, or runs standalone in any browser.

Five scenarios
  • The Meeting Voice
A senior colleague talks over the only woman of colour on the team — and what you do (or don’t) as chair.
  • The Parental Leave Gap
Shortlisting decisions when a CV shows a career break — and what the Equality Act says.
  • The Team Social
A regular team event that structurally excludes a quieter colleague — and what inclusion actually requires.
  • The WhatsApp Message
A mocking joke in the team group chat, sent while you were on leave — and your duty to act once you know.
  • The Project Assignment
Affinity bias on a high-profile project — and the difference between comfort and competence.

Frequently asked questions

How long does the training take to complete?
Around 10 minutes per learner. Five scenarios with three choices each, plus a short knowledge primer at the start and a key-takeaways screen at the end. Learners can pause and resume; the SCORM package saves state.
Can I deploy this on our LMS?
Yes. The package is supplied as SCORM 1.2, which works in any LMS — TalentLMS, Moodle, Cornerstone, Workday Learning, Bridge and others. You can also host it on your intranet as a standalone HTML file if you don’t use an LMS.
Is this enough on its own to meet our equality training obligations?
It’s a strong foundation, particularly for first-line and middle managers who need decision-making confidence rather than awareness. Most organisations use it alongside policy-specific training (e.g. anti-harassment policy briefings) and senior leader development. The scenarios deliberately focus on the “in the moment” decisions that policy training tends to skip.
Can I customise this for our organisation?
Not out of the box. It’s deliberately industry-neutral so it works across sectors. If you need bespoke versions with your branding, policies or sector-specific situations, get in touch — we offer this as a paid service.
Does the training cover positive action and positive discrimination?
It covers the practical line between them through the scenarios — particularly the project assignment scenario, which deals with affinity bias and how to take deliberate inclusion seriously without falling into unlawful preferential treatment. The legal frame is the Equality Act 2010 throughout.
What’s the licensing model?
One-time purchase of £149. Unlimited internal users. No annual renewals, no per-seat fees. The licence covers use within your organisation in perpetuity. If you’re a training provider planning to resell or use it with clients, contact us about a commercial licence.
