AI is in the room whether you trained for it or not

Most AI ethics training is theoretical, generic, or written before anyone in the organisation actually used the tools. Useful for a board paper. Less useful for the manager who’s just opened an AI-generated shortlist of 8 candidates from 47, noticed the demographic skew, and has 24 hours to make a hiring decision.

The Right Call: AI Ethics at Work puts managers inside five real AI situations and shows what happens depending on the choice they make — the rejected good candidate, the confidential prompt that ended up in training data, the performance review the employee later realised was written by ChatGPT.

Scenarios are drawn from real cases that are happening right now in UK workplaces, grounded in UK GDPR, the Equality Act 2010, and emerging UK and EU AI regulation. One licence covers your whole organisation. Because AI use is moving fast, expect to refresh annually.

Five scenarios
  • The CV Screen
An AI shortlist for a hiring decision shows a clear demographic skew — and what to do with it.
  • The Confidential Prompt
A colleague pastes commercially sensitive information into a public AI tool — and where the line on data sits.
  • The Performance Review Draft
AI used to write a performance review — and what transparency actually requires.
  • The Team Shortcut
A team member is using AI to do work they don’t fully understand — and your duty as their manager.
  • The Automated Decision
An AI tool flagging people for performance management — and the line on automated people decisions under GDPR.

Frequently asked questions

Will this still be relevant in a year?
The underlying decisions will. The specific tools mentioned in scenarios are kept deliberately generic (“an AI tool” rather than named products) so the content doesn’t date as fast as the technology. We refresh the module annually to reflect any major regulatory changes; existing customers receive the refresh at no cost.
How long does the training take to complete?
Around 10 minutes per learner. Five scenarios with three choices each, plus a short knowledge primer at the start and a key-takeaways screen at the end.
Can I deploy this on our LMS?
Yes. The package is supplied as SCORM 1.2, which works in any LMS — TalentLMS, Moodle, Cornerstone, Workday Learning, Bridge and others. You can also host it on your intranet as a standalone HTML file if you don’t use an LMS.
Is this a replacement for our AI policy training?
No, it complements it. Policy training tells managers what your organisation has decided about AI. This module gives them the judgment to apply it — including in situations the policy hasn’t yet caught up with. Use them together.
Can I customise this for our organisation?
Not out of the box. It’s deliberately industry-neutral so it works across sectors. If you need bespoke versions with your branding, policies or sector-specific situations, get in touch — we offer this as a paid service.
What’s the licensing model?
One-time purchase of £149. Unlimited internal users. No annual renewals, no per-seat fees. The licence covers use within your organisation in perpetuity. If you’re a training provider planning to resell or use it with clients, contact us about a commercial licence.
